Equinox is one of the nicest (and priciest) gym options in all of Boston. The locker rooms, equipment, and space are all beautiful. Like most gyms in Boston, this place will be crazy packed at all the peak times (right before and after the work day), so it is best to go in there with a flexible plan if you want to get a good workout in at those times.

Boxing and kickboxing are some of the best workouts for the whole body, as the movements themselves force your body to develop strength, stamina, and dexterity. 

Title Boxing Club does a great keeping every workout fresh with lots of "rounds" - where you move from exercise to exercise for set amounts of time. This approach gets you in incredible shape and makes an hour class fly by.

BSC is a gym that can service anyone. They have ample weight and cardio sections as well as a multitude of classes for those who do better in a group workout setting.

This BSC is, in our opinion, one of the nicest in the city and has a phenomenal layout - which makes a huge difference when it gets busy.

Orangetheory Fitness

Orangetheory Fitness

Orangetheory operates under the idea that you burn the most calories if you get your heart rate up to a certain "zone" (in this case, called the Orange zone"), so the classes are all about getting you to that zone for short periods of time. This is done via interval training - with weights, treadmills, rowers, etc - and it is a great way to get a total body workout done in 60 minutes.
