Ocean Prime

Ocean Prime is located in the new 100 Pier 4 building in Seaport, and with a menu featuring quality steak, seafood, and handcrafted cocktails, this place will deliver a great experience for any group. The entrance and first room within ocean prime is a beautiful and lounge area, and as you are taken into the back to your table, the restaurant resembles other modern steakhouses with its white tablecloth tables and large leather booths.

In addition to to great steak and seafood, Ocean Prime offers an incredible raw bar and sushi. As is the case at most steakhouses, however, the sides might just steal the show; the jlapeño au gratin potatoes are incredible and the chophouse corn compliment meats and seafood perfectly. This place can get very busy so, if you’re coming for drinks, get there early, and if you’re there for dinner, make a reservation!

Bastille Kitchen

Bastille is a beautiful restaurant. Set to a French theme, the dining room offers large tables that are spread out to allow for good conversation, and the booths are beautiful. The bar is spacious yet somehow cozy. No question, Bastille sports some of the best restaurant decor in all of Boston.

The menu, like the decor, is French themed. The French Onion soup and Oysters are huge hits for the appetizers, and the cocktail menu has something for every season. This spot works for both small groups and large groups, as they do have private bar areas and rooms for larger parties. Bastille does have a bit of a nightlife there, so if you’re looking to have a quiet dinner, I would suggest getting there a bit earlier in the night.

Babbo

If you are a pizza lover, Babbo is one of the best in the area. It is located on Fan Pier Boulevard right by the water, but you likely won’t have much of a view of it no matter where you sit in the restaurant. That being said, the interior of Babbo is simple but elegant, and if you sit right next to the pizza oven at the bar, you can watch your pizza be made right in front of you. There is also a private dining area in the back that is great for large groups.

The menu at Babbo is, unsurprisingly, pizza-driven, and it boasts 17 different house pizza options on top of a build-your-own option. I suggest trying the meatball. They supplement the pizza options with a number of delicious looking pasta dishes, a terrific wine list, and great cocktails.

Gather

Gather, a seafood driven restaurant, is a solid sit down option for anyone in the Seaport area. Located in District Hall, Gather shares it’s space with the Innovation Community, so don’t be surprised to see entrepreneurs walking around or business events taking place. Gather is certainly another Seaport spot that benefits from great weather, as their outdoor seating has a wonderful view of a park and the water, but even if you’re stuck inside, the entire front wall is windowed, and almost everyone in the restaurant has a great view of the water due to the variation in the height of tables.

As for the food, it’s pretty much all good. The clam chowder and French onion soup are great, and all of their salads can have Salmon, Lobster, Shrimp, Chicken, or Steak added to them. Who knows, maybe even more than one of those? I’ve never asked. If you’re drinking, try the Nantucket Mule (think regular Moscow Mule but with Cranberry Juice added). This is a great place to bring a client or a few friends, and there are plenty of bars and other restaurants to continue onto in the area if you’re looking to have yourself a bit of a night.

The Barking Crab

The Barking Crab has the feel of a restaurant that has been pulled off of Cape Cod and dropped into downtown Boston. It’s location is exceptional - located right on the water over the bridge from the Financial District.

While you will find a burger and some turf-based sides (get the onion rings), this menu sports almost exclusively seafood dishes. You’ll see a lot of people in there wearing bibs, so this is a place where you can shamelessly attack a whole lobster if it suits your fancy.

That being said, Barking Crab has almost exclusively large picnic table seating, so you will likely be plopped down next to a few people you’ve never met. That makes this place less ideal for clients, as you really never know who you’ll be sitting next to, but I suggest you order yourself a few Dark n Stormys and make yourself some new friends.

Lucky's Lounge

This Sinatra-themed lounge offers a breath of fresh air in the Seaport, which - let’s just call it like it is - can be a little stuffy. Lucky’s is a dark, hidden bar in Seaport which will keep many of the suits away, but there are things to love in this hidden spot. The decor is very cool; loads of old school toys, and with old school music playing in the background, you get a very chill vibe from this place.

The menu here has the staples of a typical American bar, and I suggest keeping it simple with some chicken wings, burgers, and nachos. This place just hired a new Executive Chef back in September, and the food has been steadily improving ever since. In fact, we’ve even come across a few “best burger in the city” reviews since the new hire.
